Virtual Mental Health Clinical Coordinator Registered Nurse Role
An excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse with mental health experience to join an integrative telehealth psychiatry practice as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator. In this role, you’ll be pivotal in ensuring seamless clinical operations and coordinating patient care. The position focuses on managing referrals, addressing clinical queries, reviewing pathology results, drafting documentation, and collaborating with healthcare providers.A Virtual Mental Health Clinical Coordinator oversees remote patient care, triages referrals, and ensures seamless communication between healthcare providers in a telehealth setting.
The key focus of this role is to maintain accuracy and efficiency in patient care processes while ensuring collaboration between the psychiatrist, patients, external providers, and the reception team. Non-clinical tasks, such as appointment scheduling and payment management, are handled by a separate virtual reception team.
Key Responsibilities
Referral Review & Summarisation
As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will review new referrals and ensure all necessary information is available for the psychiatrist’s review. You’ll also flag any urgent referrals and present them in a clear, organised manner to streamline decision-making.
Patient Enquiries & Clinical Triage
Responding to patient queries, triaging concerns, and escalating issues to the psychiatrist when necessary will be an important part of your role. Your communication will be empathetic and professional, particularly in discussing medication and follow-ups.
Pathology Review & Follow-Up
You will review pathology results, flagging abnormalities and ensuring timely follow-up with the psychiatrist or GP as needed. Ensuring proper documentation of findings and follow-ups is key to your responsibilities.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2+ years of experience in Mental Health or Functional Medicine.
- Experience in telehealth nursing and familiarity with remote workflows.
- Strong analytical, clinical triage, and medical documentation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Xestro practice management software (preferred but not essential).
- Experience in clinical operations and business process improvement.
