About the Role
As a Town Planner, you will:
- Assess and determine development proposals following legislation and policies.
- Provide expert guidance to the public, applicants, and internal teams.
- Support junior planners through mentoring and training.
- Improve planning strategies and compliance processes.
- Address coastal development challenges while ensuring sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply planning legislation to development applications.
- Investigate non-compliance issues and resolve disputes.
- Represent the organization in discussions with public authorities, consultants, and communities.
- Prepare clear reports and stakeholder communication.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Criteria:
- A degree in Town Planning or a related field.
- Strong experience in development assessment and planning laws.
- Proven ability to mentor junior staff.
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and corporate software.
- A valid Class C driver’s license.
Desirable Criteria:
- Local Government experience.
