As a Recreation Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by organising meaningful leisure and social activities. Our goal is to support older individuals in maintaining their lifestyles, habits, and activities while promoting independence.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a Recreation Coordinator to join our team at Ron Conn Nursing Home on a Fixed Term Full-Time Basis for 12 months, starting in March 2025. This role involves coordinating and developing a recreation program tailored to the unique needs of each resident.
Roster Schedule:
- Week 1: Monday to Friday (09:00 – 17:06)
- Week 2: Monday to Friday (09:00 – 17:06)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, coordinate, and implement engaging recreation programs that support residents’ independence.
- Supervise and assist recreation team members in structuring effective programs.
- Encourage residents to stay connected with their community and social groups.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Promote participation in broader community recreational opportunities.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in the social sector or a degree in Leisure and Lifestyle, Psychology, Community Development, or a related field (preferred).
- A current driver’s licence (mandatory).
- First Aid and CPR certificates (preferred).
- Experience in working with older adults.
- Skills in recreational program planning and implementation.
- Knowledge of local community resources and how to integrate them into resident activities.
