About the Role
As an Aircraft Technician in the Australian Army, you will be a vital part of military aviation operations, responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing Army aircraft. This role involves working on airframes, engines, safety equipment, and ancillary systems, ensuring aircraft are mission-ready at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Performing scheduled and unscheduled servicing, repairs, and overhauls on aircraft systems (hydraulics, flight controls, etc.).
- Operating and maintaining specialized test equipment, tooling, and workshop machinery.
- Conducting aircraft modifications as required.
- Assisting in flight testing to diagnose technical faults.
- Investigating defects and recommending necessary repairs.
- Maintaining technical manuals and maintenance records.
Entry-Level Aircraft Technician

Location & Salary
After completing your initial training, you may be posted to various Army units across Brisbane, Oakey, Townsville, Darwin, or Sydney.
- Starting salary during training: $56,385 per annum + 16.4% superannuation.
- After completing training: Earn up to $87,929 per annum + generous super.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this role, you must:
- Be at least 17 years old when entering the ADF.
- Have completed Year 10 education (or equivalent) with passes in English, Mathematics, and Science (preferably with physics).
- Be an Australian citizen (non-citizens may be eligible under certain conditions).
- Meet the ADF physical fitness requirements.
- Be able to obtain a security clearance.
