Key Responsibilities

Technical Support

The Principal Power Systems Engineer will conduct feasibility studies, conceptualize designs, and prepare detailed specifications to ensure optimal performance of transmission systems. This involves collaborating with various teams to align technical aspects with project goals.

Design and Engineering

Developing comprehensive scopes, selecting appropriate technologies, and planning the development and delivery of transmission projects are core aspects of this role. The engineer will ensure that designs meet international standards and best practices.

Power Systems Studies

Managing and collaborating with system study engineers, OEMs, and consultants to assess HVDC system performance and its impact on the transmission grid is essential. This includes developing and reviewing technical specifications for HVDC systems and ancillary equipment.

Procurement Support

Providing expert input into contracting and procurement strategies, contributing to tendering processes, and participating in negotiations and selection of equipment and contractors are key responsibilities.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Extensive expertise in OHTL, HVDC systems, and MV/HV AC transmission systems, encompassing end-to-end project development and delivery.
  • With proven experience in Voltage Source Converters (VSCs), switchgear, and infrastructure, you will also act as a key interface, working closely with both domestic and international teams to ensure seamless collaboration
  • Strong collaboration skills with system integration teams, focusing on network modeling, energy balance, grid connections, control system strategies, and reliability assessments.
  • Moreover, you have demonstrated the ability to build constructive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including government entities.
  • Experience in providing effective safety and environmental leadership across diverse project teams.
  • Additionally, you possess proficiency in project control methods, including safety, cost, schedule, and operability metrics.
  • Skilled in negotiating and executing complex electrical engineering, procurement, and construction contracts.
  • Knowledgeable in industry standards, legislative requirements, and best practices.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is essential; however, a Master’s degree is desirable but not mandatory
  • While a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is essential, a Master’s degree is also desirable; however, it is not mandatory. Moreover, candidates with advanced qualifications may have a competitive edge in this role.
