Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Diploma of Hospitality Management or at least three years of relevant experience in a similar position.
• A minimum of two years of experience in Korean food preparation and Asian cooking techniques.
• Legal working rights in Australia (Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or valid work visa).

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Operations

• Assist the Sous Chef in managing daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare and cook high-quality Korean dishes, ensuring consistency and presentation.
• Contribute to menu planning and budgeting for cost optimization.
• Attend management meetings to address food preparation concerns.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.

Inventory & Kitchen Maintenance

• Monitor ingredient levels and assist with ordering supplies.
• Inspect food deliveries for quality and accuracy.
• Ensure proper food storage to maintain safety and quality.
• Uphold strict sanitation standards and maintain kitchen equipment.

Staff & Compliance Management

• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety.
• Delegate tasks effectively to maintain efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Keep accurate records of food temperatures and cleaning schedules.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of Korean cuisine and Asian cooking techniques.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with the team.
