Global Skilled Employment Services is seeking a skilled heavy vehicle driver to safely transport livestock. As a heavy vehicle driver, you will be responsible for handling livestock, operating heavy trucks, and ensuring the safe delivery of animals across various locations. Key Responsibilities

• Handle livestock (primarily cattle and sheep), including loading and unloading in various environments like farms, saleyards, and abattoirs.
• Operate heavy combination vehicles, including attaching and detaching trailers and maneuvering trucks safely.
• Transport livestock between destinations while ensuring their welfare during the journey.
• Conduct regular inspections and basic maintenance of trucks, identifying and reporting faults.
• Safely load and unload vehicles using lifting and tipping equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols during loading and unloading processes.
• Perform regular vehicle quality checks to maintain road safety standards.
• Estimate and distribute load weights accurately to meet regulatory guidelines.
• Verify loading documents and ensure the correct handling and delivery of livestock.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Minimum of two years of experience driving heavy combination vehicles.
• Strong animal handling skills, particularly with cattle and sheep.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
• A proactive and adaptable attitude.
